Video Doorbell Installation
Video doorbell installation from our crew puts the doorbell you bought on your front door, wired to proper power and ringing on your phone before we leave. Most doorbell problems come from weak power, not the doorbell itself, so power is the first thing we check.
Video doorbell installation starts at $199 + HST.

What we do on the visit
- Check the existing doorbell wire, transformer and chime.
- Replace the transformer if it cannot power a video doorbell, which is common in older Toronto homes.
- Mount the doorbell at the right height, with a wedge if the door sits off to one side of the path.
- Test the Wi-Fi signal at the door, connect the doorbell and set up the app, chime and motion zones.
- Show you how to answer, review clips and share access with the rest of the house.
No doorbell wire at the door?
We can run new low-voltage wire from the chime or basement, or fit a plug-in transformer where that is cleaner. Battery doorbells work too, but they need charging and can be slow to wake on motion, so we recommend wired power wherever the door allows it. If the Wi-Fi is weak at the front of the house, we will tell you before the doorbell goes up, not after.
Doorbell plus cameras
A doorbell sees the porch; it does not see the driveway or the side gate. Many homeowners add a few wired cameras with home security camera installation, and some doorbells can record to the same recorder as an IP camera system. For apartment and condo entrances, see intercom and buzzer installation. Price ranges for bigger systems are in our cost guide.
